I made this full scale model (called a form study) out of aluminum while I was working for Timex Corporation 1996. It is non working, It was intended to show all of the details, size and proportion of the production part.
The form study is supposed to represent the design intent and give an accurate, volume study of the final design. Some form studies (like the one pictured here) had more detail which brought them closer to production watch appearance. The form study shown has: · an actual leather strap. · paint filled aluminum case. · a paper dial. · plated brass hands. |
